HK Models 1/48 Lancaster Part 1. The Teaser.

Recently I was commissioned to build the new HK Models 1/48 Avro Lancaster post haste for Metro Hobbies in Melbourne. It was an OOB ( out of box) build with the exception of the decals, which were not available as the model I was building was a pre-release example, so I had to make do with stencils and the leftovers from a Tamiya Lancaster, which was built alongside so I could do some comparisons. There’s also some minor details that don’t fit a wartime Lanc ( aerials for example) but I’ll cover that in depth in the next installment.
When the model was completed I took the it outside for some backyard photography ( the backyard isn’t far from the YouYangs here in Lara ) and here I’ll kick off the series of posts with the results of the photographical exercise and I’ll return in the next part to discuss the model’s construction in detail. I’ll also do a bit on some comparison with the 1975 Tamiya offering.
This model was constructed as one of the kit options, 106 Sqn W4118 ZN-Y.
